City Flour Mill / Priday Mill
Following its construction in 1850, wheat imported into the city was milled at this building a stone’s throw away from the water.
When Priday Metford & Co took over the operation of the mill in 1881 they supplied flour mainly from British crops to many local bakeries. Flour production ceased in 1994. The building was converted into flats in 2004.
